Ingredients

  • 2.50 slices Beef Steak (cubed)
  • 4.00 whole Bacon (strips)
  • 1.00 whole Onion (diced)
  • 2.00 whole Carrot (sliced)
  • 4.00 liters Garlic (minced)
  • 2.00 cups Red Wine
  • 2.00 cups Beef Broth
  • 2.00 tablespoons Tomato Paste
  • 8.00 pinch Mushroom (halved)
  • 3.00 whole Thyme (sprigs)
  • 2.00 tablespoons Butter

Instructions

  1. Cut beef into large cubes and season with salt and pepper
  2. Brown beef in batches in a Dutch oven, set aside
  3. Cook bacon until crispy, then add onions, carrots, and garlic
  4. Return beef to pot with red wine, beef broth, tomato paste, and thyme
  5. Cover and braise in 325°F oven for 2.5 hours
  6. Sauté mushrooms separately and add in last 30 minutes
  7. Serve with crusty bread or mashed potatoes
