Ingredients

  • 1.00 whole Whole Chicken (cut into pieces)
  • 4.00 whole Bacon (strips)
  • 1.00 whole Onion (diced)
  • 2.00 whole Carrot (sliced)
  • 8.00 pinch Mushroom (sliced)
  • 4.00 liters Garlic (minced)
  • 2.00 cups Red Wine
  • 1.00 cups Chicken Broth
  • 3.00 whole Thyme (sprigs)
  • 2.00 whole Bay Leaf
  • 4.00 tablespoons Butter

Instructions

  1. Brown chicken pieces in butter, then set aside
  2. Cook bacon until crispy, then remove
  3. Sauté onions, carrots, and mushrooms in the same pot
  4. Add garlic, then pour in red wine and chicken broth
  5. Return chicken and bacon to pot with thyme and bay leaf
  6. Simmer covered for 1 hour until chicken is tender
  7. Thicken sauce if desired and serve
