French Onion Soup

Ingredients
- 4.00 whole Onion (thinly sliced)
- 4.00 tablespoons Butter
- 6.00 cups Beef Broth
- 0.50 cups Red Wine
- 3.00 liters Garlic (minced)
- 4.00 whole Baguette (slices)
- 1.00 cups Gruyere Cheese (shredded)
- 1.00 teaspoons Salt
Instructions
- Slice onions thinly
- Melt butter in a large pot and add onions with salt
- Cook onions on medium-low heat for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally until caramelized
- Add garlic and cook for 1 minute
- Pour in beef broth and red wine, simmer for 15 minutes
- Ladle soup into oven-safe bowls, top with bread and cheese
- Broil until cheese is melted and bubbly
